Shopify conversion optimisation · audit-led · fixed price

Shopify CRO agency: every fix traced to a scored audit.

Most CRO engagements open with a workshop. Ours opens with a score. The free audits read your store the way Google, AI assistants and your customers do, and everything we propose traces back to something they found.

Why stores call us

Why Shopify stores bring in a CRO agency.

Six situations that come up most often on a first call. Each one is something the free audits can confirm or rule out before anyone is paid.

  • 01

Sessions are up, orders are not

    the flat line

Paid and organic traffic keep climbing while the conversion rate sits where it was a year ago. Something between the landing page and payment is absorbing the growth.

  • 02

    Phones convert far below laptops

    where the traffic lands

Most sessions arrive on a phone, yet the store was signed off on a desktop. Load time, thumb reach and the keyboard at checkout usually explain the gap.

  • 03

Nobody knows what each app costs

    script weight

Twenty apps each added a script. Together they delay the first render, and no one owns the list of which ones still earn their place on the page.

  • 04

Tests that never reach a verdict

    too little traffic to split

An A/B tool promises answers the traffic cannot give. Months of inconclusive tests usually mean the problem needs fixing outright, not testing.

  • 05

    Carts that stall before payment

    the final step

Shipping cost shown late, a missing payment method, a coupon box that sends people off to search for codes: small things at the last step cost the most.

  • 06

    Assistants name a competitor

    AI shopping answers

Ask ChatGPT or Gemini for the best products in your category and it lists the stores whose product data it can read. Yours may not be on the list.

What changes

Where a Shopify CRO engagement makes its changes.

A/B tests on a slow store measure the slowness. We fix the thing itself — template, data, markup, speed — so the gain survives the next theme update.

  • 01

    Product and collection templates

    where the money is

Above-the-fold clarity, variant and stock logic, delivery and returns placed where the doubt is, and copy that answers the objection instead of restating the title.

  • 02

    Checkout and cart

    the last mile

Where people leave and why: friction, surprise costs, payment options, and the mobile keyboard traps that never appear in a desktop screenshot.

  • 03

    Speed that Google scores

    field data, not lab

Largest paint, interaction delay and layout shift, measured on phones at the 75th percentile. Apps and scripts ranked by the seconds they cost, then removed or deferred.

  • 04

    Structured data and agent access

    the new shelf

Product identifiers, Offer and Organization markup, robots and llms.txt. An assistant that cannot read your catalogue recommends whoever it can read instead.

How it runs

The Shopify CRO process, from free audit to measured fix.

Four steps, in this order, on a fixed price.

  1. Step 1

    Run the free audits

Four tools, no signup. You see the score and every finding before you speak to anyone.

free · about 2 minutes each
  2. Step 2

    Thirty minutes

We open your audit on screen and agree what is worth fixing first. You leave with the priority list either way.

no deck · no retainer to talk
  3. Step 3

    Fixed price from the audit

The quote comes from what the audit found, not from a paid scoping phase. You know the number before work starts.

    from $6,000
  4. Step 4

    Shipped, then re-audited

Priority fixes in seven working days, then the same audit run again so the delta is measured.

the same tool, the same score

What you get

What a Shopify CRO engagement leaves you with.

The findings
Every free audit run by hand against your store, with a written priority list ranked by the revenue each problem puts at risk.
The fixes
The priority items shipped at the source in seven working days, on a price agreed from the audit before work begins.
The proof
The same audit run again after the fix, so the change is a number on the same scale rather than an opinion.
The code
Every change committed to your theme and documented. Nothing is rented, nothing stops working if we part ways.

Shopify CRO questions

What people ask before they start.

What does a CRO agency for Shopify stores do?

It finds where a store loses people and fixes those specific things. Ours starts with four free audits that read your store the way Google, AI assistants and customers do, so every proposal traces back to a finding you can see rather than an opinion from a workshop.

What does Shopify CRO cost with ForgeCRO?

The audits are free. A custom audit, run and reviewed by hand, is $2,500. Audit plus the priority fixes shipped is from $6,000 at a fixed price quoted from what the audit found. The monthly programme is from $3,000.

Is the free CRO audit really free?

Yes. It runs against your live store with no signup and shows the score and every finding on screen. A work email unlocks the downloadable report, because the full version costs an API run per store. Run the free CRO audit.

How soon do results show?

Priority fixes ship in seven working days, then we run the same audit again so the change is measured rather than claimed. Ranking and revenue effects take longer and depend on traffic, which is why we measure the store first and the outcome second.

Do you run A/B tests?

Only where there is enough traffic for a result to reach significance. Below that threshold a test on a slow or broken page just measures the problem. We fix the thing itself and compare before and after instead.

What is a good Shopify conversion rate?

The honest answer is that the benchmark matters less than your own trend. A 1% store with a four-second mobile load and a 2% store with a one-second load have completely different problems, and the average of the two helps neither.

Do I need a redesign to improve conversion?

Usually not, and a redesign often resets what was working. Most of the recoverable loss sits in the product template, the checkout path and page speed, all of which can be fixed on the theme you already have.

Can you work with our existing agency or developer?

Yes. A lot of this is a specific piece of work alongside an in-house team or another agency rather than instead of one.

Does page speed really affect conversion?

It affects both ranking and behaviour. Google scores Core Web Vitals on real-user field data from phones at the 75th percentile, not on a lab score, which is why our audit reports field numbers next to lab ones. Check yours free.

What if the audit finds nothing worth fixing?

Then we say so and you have lost nothing. That is a real outcome of running evidence first rather than selling a retainer before anyone has looked.

Do you require a retainer?

No. The audit is one price and the fix is one price. The monthly programme exists for brands that already have the build and want the cycle to keep running, and it can be stopped at the end of any month.

Who does the work?

Senior engineers. The person on your thirty minutes is the person who reads your audit and ships the fix.
