Migration · from Shopify, Magento, WooCommerce or BigCommerce
Shopify Plus migration services, scoped from your own catalogue.
The expensive part of a migration is rarely the build. It is the redirects nobody mapped, the integration nobody tested and the structured data that quietly stopped existing. Those are the parts we scope first.

Where it goes wrong
Where Shopify migrations lose traffic and time.
None of these shows up on launch day. They surface weeks later, in Search Console and in the order count.
- 01
Redirects built from the sitemap alone
Filtered collections, old blog paths and retired variants ranked without ever appearing in a sitemap. Those are the addresses that return 404 after launch.
- 02
Markup left behind in the old theme
Product, review and breadcrumb markup lived in templates that no longer exist. Rich results disappear a few weeks later and nobody connects the two events.
- 03
Integrations proven on sample data
The ERP sync passes with twenty test orders, then meets real volume, real tax rules and a real warehouse on the first morning.
- 04
History moved out of habit
A decade of orders and dormant accounts slows the move and rarely informs a decision. What comes across should be chosen, not assumed.
- 05
A redesign riding along
Change platform and design at once, and any drop in conversion afterwards has two suspects and no way to tell them apart.
- 06
Quotes missing the hard parts
The lowest proposal is often low because redirect mapping, data reconciliation and integration testing were never in it.
What it covers
Five things a Shopify Plus migration is priced on.
Run the free calculator for a figure against your own catalogue and stack. The 2026 cost guide explains which line items on an agency quote deserve a second look.
- 01
Where you are coming from
Shopify, Magento, WooCommerce, BigCommerce or custom. Export quality decides how much of the work is data and how much is build.
- 02
Catalogue shape
Simple products are cheap to move. Configurable products, bundles, per-customer pricing and metafield-heavy catalogues are where estimates go wrong.
- 03
Everything that must keep talking
ERP, PIM, 3PL, subscriptions, loyalty, tax. Each is a contract to honour on the other side, and each needs testing before cutover rather than after.
- 04
B2B requirements
Company accounts, price lists, net terms and the approval flows behind them. Plus handles this natively, which changes what is worth custom-building.
- 05
History and URLs
Orders, customers and content, plus a redirect map for every URL that ever ranked. The cheapest quote usually excludes this. That is how a migration costs traffic instead of money.
Platforms
Moving to Shopify Plus, by source platform.
The source changes the data work far more than the build. Each one exports differently, and each export has its own gaps.

What you get
What a ForgeCRO migration hands over.
- A figure first
- A number from the free calculator for your own catalogue and systems, before any agency quotes you.
- A written plan
- What moves, what is rebuilt, what is retired, and why, agreed before a line of the build is written.
- The redirect map
- A destination for every URL that ever ranked, live at cutover and checked against what Google re-crawls.
- Tested integrations
- Each connected system proven against real data before launch, not discovered on the first morning.
- Watch after launch
- Crawl errors, redirect hits and the rankings of the pages that mattered, followed after cutover.
When to move
When a move to Shopify Plus earns its fee.
Plus is a set of capabilities, not a status. If none of these applies, standard Shopify is usually the better spend.
- 01
Checkout needs rules of its own
Delivery, discount or payment logic the standard plan cannot express, built as Shopify Functions.
- 02
You sell to trade customers
Company accounts, price lists and payment terms handled natively instead of by a stack of apps.
- 03
Several stores or markets
Expansion stores and organisation-level control over more than one storefront.
- 04
Limits are the bottleneck
API rate limits, staff seats or automation that the standard plans cap below what the team needs.
Migration questions
What people ask before they move.
How much does a Shopify Plus migration cost?
It depends on catalogue shape, integrations, B2B needs and how much history moves — not on SKU count alone. The free calculator gives a figure for your own store in about a minute, separate from the Plus platform fee.
Will we lose rankings when we migrate?
Only where the redirect map has gaps or the structured data is left behind in the old theme. Those are the two line items most often trimmed to make a quote look cheaper, and they are the two we scope first. Shopify documents its URL redirect handling if you want to see the mechanism.
How long does a migration take?
Integration testing is almost always the long pole, not the theme. The calculator returns a realistic timeline for the band your store lands in, and we confirm it against your actual systems before anything is agreed.
Do you migrate from Magento, WooCommerce or BigCommerce?
Yes, and from custom builds. The source platform mostly changes the data work rather than the build: export quality decides how much is mapping and how much is rebuilding.
How is Shopify Plus different from standard Shopify?
Plus adds higher API limits, checkout extensibility, B2B, more staff accounts and organisation-level tooling. Shopify publishes the current plan comparison. Whether it is worth the fee depends on whether you need those specific capabilities.
Can we keep our orders and customers?
Yes, within what the source platform exports. Orders, customers and content move; what needs deciding early is how much history is genuinely useful versus how much is being moved out of habit.
Does B2B come across?
Plus handles company accounts, price lists and net terms natively through its B2B features, which usually reduces what is worth custom-building. We map your existing rules onto the native model first and only build where it genuinely cannot reach.
What usually goes wrong in a migration?
Redirects nobody mapped, an integration nobody tested against the real system, and structured data that quietly stopped existing. All three are invisible until traffic or orders drop, which is why they are scoped before the build.
Do you handle the redirects?
Yes. Every URL that ever ranked gets a mapped destination, live on day one, then monitored against what Google actually re-crawls rather than assumed complete.
Can you migrate without downtime?
The store stays live throughout; cutover is a DNS and configuration switch at the end. The risk is not downtime, it is a system that silently stops talking, which is what pre-cutover integration testing exists to catch.
Should we redesign at the same time?
Usually not. Migrating and redesigning together means that if conversion drops afterwards you cannot tell which change did it. Move first, measure, then improve deliberately.
What do we get before committing?
A figure from the free calculator, then a written plan: what moves, what is rebuilt, what is retired, and the redirect map. Agreed before work starts.
